Programme for Active Learning (PAL)
Building confidence, creativity and teamwork through meaningful hands-on experiences.
The Programme for Active Learning (PAL) provides all Primary 1 and Primary 2 students with meaningful learning experiences beyond the classroom. Through engaging experiences in a variety of modules—Outdoor Education, Drama, the Performing Arts, Visual Arts, and Sports and Games—students develop social-emotional competencies, build positive relationships, and discover their interests and strengths. PAL encourages every child to learn through exploration, collaboration, and joyful participation.
Drama
Students engage in imaginative role-play, storytelling, and creative movement to explore different perspectives while developing confidence, communication, and collaboration skills. These drama experiences encourage empathy, responsible decision-making, and creative expression, nurturing students' social-emotional competencies in an engaging and supportive environment.

Outdoor Education
In hands-on outdoor experiences such as map reading, knot tying, shelter building, first aid, and team challenges, students develop confidence, resilience, and teamwork. These authentic learning experiences strengthen their social-emotional competencies while nurturing the school's iHOPEFUL values.

Performing Arts
Contemporary Dance and Kompang provide opportunities for students to explore movement, rhythm, and creative expression while working both independently and collaboratively. Through these experiences, students develop confidence, body awareness, creativity, and teamwork, while fostering an appreciation for the performing arts and the joy of expressing themselves through movement and music.

Sports and Games
Cooperative games and traditional sports provide authentic opportunities for students to develop teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills while gaining an appreciation of Singapore's cultural heritage. By creating, adapting, and playing games together, students build resilience, respect for others, and confidence in working collaboratively.

Visual Arts
Hands-on art-making allows students to explore Singapore's cultural heritage while expressing their creativity using a variety of materials. As they design, construct, and contribute to a collaborative neighbourhood, they develop imagination, an appreciation of diverse cultures, communication, and teamwork.

Our PAL Experience
Through PAL, students develop confidence, resilience, creativity, and teamwork as they discover the joy of learning through authentic, hands-on experiences. These enriching experiences inspire students to become confident learners, caring teammates, and active contributors both in and beyond the classroom.
