Education and Career Guidance (ECG) helps students develop a sense of purpose in life. By nurturing self-awareness and self-directedness for lifelong learning, ECG helps students develop a growth mindset, adaptability and a resilient attitude to embrace future opportunities and appreciate the value of all occupations.
In ACS(P), students are involved in various ECG programmes to
(a) develop greater awareness of their strengths and interests;
(b) explore the multiple post-Primary educational pathways (for Upper Pri) and plan ahead;
(c) gain knowledge of different occupations and appreciate the connections between how our school’s desired outcomes and iHOPEFUL values are essential in helping them succeed in their career; and
(d) nurture their aspirations for the future
ECG – Educational Pathway Talk for P6s
Our P6s also had an ECG – Educational Pathway talk at the beginning of the year to learn about the different pathways they can consider pursuing when they move on from their Primary education. During the talk, they learn from their seniors who have graduated about the different pathways they have chosen to take. Our P6s also received valuable tips on how to prepare ahead for their PSLE!
ACS(P) ECG Day for P1 – 6 students
As part of the ECG Day in ACS(P), Primary 1 to 4 students learn more about the different occupations shared by our very own school parents. During the session, students learn about what each occupation entails and what traits of the ACS(P) Desired Outcomes and 21st century competencies are essential in the different work roles.
In addition to learning more about the different occupations, our Primary 5 to 6 students had the chance to visit career booths set up by our school parents, during which they got to experience hands-on activities related to the occupations.
Take Your Child to Work Day
Extending from the ECG Day programme, all students were encouraged to participate in the Take Your Child to Work Day activity where they will join their parents at their workplace during the June Holidays. This would afford our boys an authentic learning experience and support the deepening of knowledge and understanding towards different occupations.
